Frequently Asked Questions

If your window has cracks, fogging between panes, drafts, or becomes difficult to open or close, it may be time for a replacement. Our team will carefully evaluate the issue and recommend the best solution to restore comfort, security, and energy efficiency to your space.

In many cases, if the frame is still in good condition, you can replace just the glass. However, if the frame is damaged, outdated, or worn, it’s often more effective to replace the entire window. A professional can evaluate both the glass and the frame to determine the best option.

An IGU (Insulated Glass Unit) is a energy efficient option for building fenestration, typically made of two or more glass panes separated by a spacer, containing sealed desiccated-air or a gas-filled space. It improves energy efficiency by providing insulation. IGUs also reduce outside noise when compared to single-pane windows and doors. IGUs may be produced with annealed glass, tempered glass, laminated glass and textured glass.

Laminated glass is a type of safety/security glass which consists of two or more panes of glass laminated with a plastic interlayer between each pane. Laminated glass is commonly used on storefronts, skylights, doors, high elevations and other applications in which the glass should stay intact when broken. Laminated glass also has acoustic properties, helping noise reduction in many applications, especially when it's integrated within insulated glass units.

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass that’s heat-treated to be much stronger than regular glass and designed to break into small, less harmful pieces. It’s commonly used in doors, shower enclosures, glass railings, cabinets and windows near the floor or high-impact areas to meet safety codes. Tempered glass can not be modified in size or shape after the tempering process due to internal stress within the glass, which provides it's durable characteristics.

Lead times can vary depending on the type of glass, size, and whether it requires tempering or custom fabrication. Common annealed and laminated glass replacements can typically be completed within the same day of the service request. On average, most standard glass orders are ready within 5–7 business days, whereas specialty glass may take 7–14 business days.
